Junior Director’s Special Project: Supporting Ahimsa House

The Junior Director’s Special Project shines a light on a powerful and deeply meaningful cause—Ahimsa House. This incredible nonprofit is dedicated to addressing the often-overlooked link between domestic violence and animal cruelty. Their mission is rooted in compassion, providing safe shelter and veterinary care for pets belonging to victims of domestic violence—because no one should have to choose between their safety and the safety of a beloved animal.

For many survivors, pets are family. Abusers often use these animals as a means of control, making it even harder for victims to leave dangerous situations. Ahimsa House steps in to break that cycle by offering a safe haven for pets while their owners seek safety, healing, and a fresh start. Their work not only saves lives—it restores hope.

As members of GFWC Georgia, we have the opportunity to rally around this mission and make a meaningful difference.
