By joining one of our local clubs we hope to give our members a meaningful experience by offering them volunteer opportunities to make a positive difference in their communities while connecting with others. There are many reasons why you should join a local club, the top two reasons people join our woman’s clubs are to meet new people and to get involved in their communities.

General Woman’s Clubs, also known as general clubs, are clubs that are not otherwise designated as Juniorette, Junior, International, or National clubs. This group constitutes the largest portion of active membership. The strength of General Federation of Women’s Clubs has always been rooted in its ability to bring women together—across towns, cities, and generations—to create meaningful change. Within GFWC Georgia, our General Woman’s Clubs stand as the largest and most far-reaching section, forming a vibrant network that stretches across our entire state.

Because of this widespread presence, it is often easy to find a woman’s club nearby, as opposed to Juniorettes or Juniors. In communities large and small, our General Woman’s Clubs are actively serving, leading, and making a difference—meeting needs, building relationships, and strengthening the fabric of their local areas. They are the heartbeat of our organization, ensuring that wherever you are in Georgia, the spirit of volunteerism and connection is close to home.

But what makes General Clubs even more powerful is not just where we are—it’s how we grow. If you happen to be in an area without a local club, that is not a barrier; it is an opportunity. We believe every community deserves the impact, fellowship, and purpose that a GFWC club brings. And we are here to help make that happen.

Whether you are looking to join, reconnect, or build something new, we would be honored to walk alongside you. From guidance and resources to mentorship and support, we can help you establish a club in your own city—one that reflects your community’s needs while connecting you to a larger sisterhood of women across Georgia, the nation, and beyond.

Club members are encouraged to focus their efforts on Community Service Programs and Special Projects in Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention and Advocates for Children that meet local needs, and take advantage of our national network of organizations and programs that have provided a framework for over 100 years of accomplishment.
