President’s Special Project: Operation Christmas Child
The President’s Special Project this year invites us to be part of something truly global, heartfelt, and life-changing—supporting Operation Christmas Child.
Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, has a simple yet powerful mission: to provide gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world. These boxes—filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and personal notes—deliver more than just gifts. They deliver hope, joy, and a reminder to children that they are seen, valued, and loved.
Each shoebox becomes a tangible expression of compassion, often reaching children in some of the most remote and underserved communities. For many recipients, this is the first gift they have ever received. Beyond the box, the program also offers opportunities for children to hear messages of hope, further extending its impact.
How GFWC Georgia Members Can Participate
This year, we are making it easy—and meaningful—for every member to get involved.
🎁 Bring Items to Institute
We encourage each member to bring items to contribute toward filling shoeboxes. Suggested items include small toys, school supplies, hygiene products, and other child-friendly gifts that will bring smiles across the globe.
💵 $10 Shipping Donation
To ensure each box reaches its destination, members are asked to contribute $10 for shipping, which can be added during your Institute registration. This small donation helps cover the cost of delivering these gifts to children around the world.
🤝 Assemble Boxes Together
During Institute weekend, we will come together to assemble the shoeboxes as a collective act of service. This hands-on experience will not only be impactful but also a meaningful moment of connection, unity, and purpose.
A Simple Gift. A Lasting Impact.
A shoebox may seem simple, but in the hands of a child in need, it becomes something extraordinary—a symbol of hope, joy, and love.
As members of GFWC Georgia, this is our opportunity to come together, serve together, and make a difference together.
Convention: Supporting Wells for Hope in South Sudan
In addition to our Institute project, we will extend our impact at Convention by supporting Wells of Hope for South Sudan—a life-changing effort focused on bringing access to clean, safe drinking water to communities in South Sudan.
In many areas of South Sudan, access to clean water is not just a convenience—it is a matter of survival. Families, often women and children, walk miles each day to collect water that is frequently unsafe to drink. Wells of Hope works to change that reality by funding and constructing wells that provide sustainable, clean water sources. These wells reduce disease, improve health, allow children to attend school instead of spending hours fetching water, and strengthen entire communities.
During Convention, we will host special fundraising efforts to support this initiative. Through these activities, we have the opportunity to directly contribute to building wells and transforming lives across the globe.
